Singing in the Rain is a playful cumulative action song that gets sillier and sillier with each verse! Students add motions one at a time—thumbs up, elbows back, feet together, bum out, head back, and finally tongue out—until everyone is singing and moving in the funniest possible pose.

This version was inspired by the wonderful New England Dancing Masters tradition of movement and action songs for children. It is a great choice for elementary music classes, brain breaks, movement activities, or any moment when students need to laugh, move, and sing together.
